A Gift of $25,000 From Granite Construction

In an act that embodies the meaning of "good corporate citizen ship", Granite Construction, Inc. contributed $25,000 to Habitat for Humanity Santa Cruz in October. The donation will be used to offset the cost of a Habitat home currently under construction in Watsonville.

"Granite's eighty-year history of commitment to a strong Corporate Social Responsibility program is a source of pride for our people," said William Dorey, President & Chief Executive Officer. "By working with Habitat for Humanity we are able, in partnership with other people in our community, to help local families realize the dream of home ownership." We are tremendously grateful for Granite Construction's support, for their commitment and for the compassion they share for local families in need of decent housing," said Charles Hilger, Executive Director of HfH Santa Cruz. "The confidence demonstrated by this award is a tribute to the outstanding work of our affiliate. Through dedicated volunteers and careful stewardship of all resources donated to us, we are serving families in need of housing and helping to build better communities as a result. This award can only enhance those efforts."

Granite Construction Incorporated, headquartered in Watsonville, is a member of the S&P 400 Index and is the parent company of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation's largest civil contractors and heavy construction materials producers. In January 2006, Granite Construction was named to Fortune magazines' list of the "100 Best Companies to Work For in America."
